Opportunity to earn a $100,000 Investment Prize
Since 2012, the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Alliance (GEA) has been building a community of alumni entrepreneurs by advancing and supporting entrepreneurs to become stronger as individuals and as a community. This mission expanded to include providing access to investors and capital through the creation of the Georgetown Angel Investor Network (GAIN) in 2019.
Over 60 alumni-affiliated startups have participated in GEA and GAIN pitch events resulting in more than $7 million invested by members of the Georgetown community - increasing the support of the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Georgetown.

INVESTMENT PRIZE
In 2019, GAIN pooled their capital for the first time to contribute to an investment prize for the winner of the Alumni Pitch Competition. This year’s competition marks the fourth year the competition will include a GAIN prize opportunity. Previous pitch competition winners received cash prizes from sponsors. Check out the prior GEA Alumni Pitch Competition winners here!
The $100,000 investment opportunity awarded to the winning company consists of investment commitments ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 from 10-15 individual angel investors.
If the company doesn't have an open investment vehicle upon winning the competition, GAIN Prize investors will invest using a convertible note with a 20% discount, 8% interest, a maturity date of 18 months, and an MFN provision. The entrepreneur may, at their election, sign agreements individually with shareholders or use a roll-up vehicle to consolidate GAIN investors to a single cap table entry.
