Robert Longyear (NHS’19)
Co-Founder & PRESIDENT, Avenue Health
Robert Longyear is President and Co-Founder of Avenue Health, a tech-enabled telenursing company that provides intensive chronic care management and remote patient monitoring services in six states. He is also a Commissioner at the newly formed Commission for Nurse Reimbursement. Robert was involved in the operations of Wanderly, a marketplace for travel nurses and other allied health professionals where he created and led the commercial launch of the first contingent healthcare workforce analytics product. He is the author of A Virtual Care Blueprint (Routledge, Taylor, and Francis), a book that explores real-world examples of remote patient monitoring, the clinical evidence for RPM, and how to operate an effective program. Prior to Avenue Health, Robert was a researcher at the Institute for Medicaid Innovation where he studied high-risk care coordination, SDoH data collection, and value-based care in the Medicaid program. His research work has been published in NEJM Catalyst, the American Psychological Association’s Practice Innovations, the American Journal of Medical Genetics, and the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing (OJIN) (May 2024). Robert has a degree in healthcare management and policy from Georgetown University’s School of Nursing and Health Studies.
