Robert Sherry (C’79)

Adjunct Professor of Social Entrepreneurship, Graduate School of Education and Psychology, Pepperdine University

Robert Sherry is a social impact entrepreneur who builds corporate and enterprise partnerships that advance 'purpose-driven' initiatives. He is currently the SVP of Sustainability Partnerships at Collidescope.io, an e-learning company focused on sustainability education.

Robert spent 13 years in ad sales and sales management for three global publishers, Time, BusinessWeek, and Reader’s Digest, before transitioning into the digital media sector in 1999. There, he began as Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer at ValueClick (now Conversant.), helping create the leading global pay-for-performance ad network. He was also a member of the leadership team that took it public.

Robert has helped transform over thirty startups and emerging businesses, leading to five acquisitions and an IPO. He has led revenue and marketing operations for digital media companies that include the MotorTrend Group, ad tech platforms that include StudioNow (where he facilitated its acquisition by AOL), and Influencer Marketing studios that include Studio71. He has also advised multiple media and ad tech start-ups with their go-to-market strategies to help them meet rapidly changing market challenges.

Robert is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he volunteers as a Startup Incubator mentor. He also holds a Master's degree in Tech Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship Studies at Pepperdine University. Robert spends his leisure time with his wife of 37 years traveling to Amsterdam and Washington, D.C. to visit their two daughters—and cycling in the Santa Monica mountains near his home.
